Have shot the Adobe ACR checker pattern on the 16-80mm CZ at many settings using RAW+JPEG and will compare with 1.04 'corrected' versions. Also taken a sufficient number of other ISO tests etc to get some overview. Has delayed the article and will be updated with comments later today.

The yellow cast I was getting is gone now. The colors are more neutral now.

No one else has noted this so I'm offering this...

The A65 is a small camera and when holding it by the grip the back of your palm wraps around and pushes the WB button. If you hold it, it keeps going to the adjustment page, and keeps going right on to the color adjust, and to the far right which is yellow in just a few seconds.

If you tap the shutter to get out of the mode it is saved and even though you are in AWB mode the pictures will be very yellow.

I have also done the update. The A77 just seems a bit "snappier" all round than it did. It is certainly quicker to start up and I thought that the High ISO images are a bit cleaner too. I can't see much difference in the colours but then I never use AWB.
Cheers, Dave

Drat, Dennis! Now I can't go back and check and see if that's what happened. You're in the wrong line of work. You should be a detective.

I have seen a couple of other accounts of this but they may have done the same thing. If this is what happened, it was more likely my thumb and not my palm. I tried pressing it with the thumb edge of my palm and couldn't quite get it to activate, but very well could have pressed it with my thumb during some wild shenanigans.

It is a pretty stupid place for a WB button, IMO. AE Lock, yes, but WB?

I notice one bug that has been fixed in 1.04. Previously the battery level only showed in the EVF when the LCD screen info was set to all - i.e. it didn't show in the EVF when the LCD screen was set to histogram for instance although the EVF was supposed to be showing all settings. This is now corrected - battery level indication stays on.

Another bug which I (guess I mentioned somewhere) noticed is gone too: Previously when the HVL-MT24AM was mounted and if powering off the camera while flash was on, resulted in a camera hang-up.
Now, fortunately, that is gone. :D

Thanks - after your last message (here or Dyxum?) I was avoiding that trap. Now I can stop worrying!
