As you know, the Sony digital cameras, DSLRs and mirror-less, do not have any connections for headphones and no audio adjustments. I just discovered several products, that offer the capabilities of audio controls and headphone connections. I think the Sarmonic CA Mixer condenser microphone kit and the Sarmonic SR_PAX2 DSLR Preamp products might offer the best options to adjust audio sound and offer headphone connections. I am asking if anyone in this forum has used such products and have any opinions.

I use the Tascam DR-40 (http://www.adorama.com/tsdr40.html) as field recorder, connecting it to the camera (and I keep a backup on the Tascam). Audio is quite good with the devise's mics, and you can add 2 more.
A more sophisticated piece of hardware is the Tascam DR-70D 4-Channel Audio Recorder (http://www.adorama.com/tsdr70d.html).
Otherwise, a nice, small and cheap mixer is the Hammer & Anvil MX-SLR100 (http://www.adorama.com/haamxslr100.html)

Thank you for your comments. The Tascam 40 looks like a good option. I wish it has a hot shoe foot. I'd rather not have to hold it while I operate the camera. Maybe a double cold-shoe connection to a bracket would be an option. I like the looks of the hammer & Anvil microphone. I'm disappointed with the Sony shotgun microphone. I like the feature of making a separate mp3 recording on a memory card with the Tascam 40. That would be a lot easier than copying the sound track from the video. The Tascam 40 has a lot of features for uses away from the camera. I'm using a Sony voice recorder UC-560, with my smart phone, to record and later listen to radio broadcasts. It's something to think about. The question is: which is better Sarmonic or Tascam?

you can use this adapter (http://www.adorama.com/czstsa.html) and put it on the hotshoe of your camera, the DR-40 is "big" (in comparation with a A6xxx or A7x cameras) but not heavy.

Thank you for all of your ideas. I can mix+match with all the audio options. Considering all the added weight from all the audio adapters, cables etc., I'm thinking again about the Panasonic FZ-2500, that has it all for audio, except maybe not the best glass. From what I've read, Sony has the better glass. I do wish Sony had put the audio I want into the A and Alpha cameras.
