No photo manipulation

The following shots were taken in November 2011 with my then new Sony A77 (namely pictures #61 & 62).
All this time I was in a quandary whether to link the shots here.
And today decided to do it, though sensing quite well that the majority of our active members are either atheists or agnostics...
I do not believe that these shots show miracles, but that depends on how you look at it.
My brother (who brought along my a77) was visiting us, so it was an opportunity to show him places he has never seen before.
So early on Saturday we headed to Noravank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noravank).
After spending some time, the priest greeted us and reminded me of some lectures I gave when he was still in the seminary.
After a short but a very interesting time (including coffee and beverages for the children) he asked me to come along...
He took me inside one of the Churches and asked me to look up on the ceiling... "look carefully there", he said, "what do you see?".
I didn't notice anything, he took my camera and pointed it right to the spot. The following are what I saw.
Image Image
You will notice a face, and look carefully on the forehead...
What you see is up to you... or is it, look for what you want to see...
And yes, I do believe...

Very interesting pictures Doc - I'm glad that you posted them. I find the eyes very piercing, almost uncomfortable to look at.

It takes a long time to appear, but there's more than a hint of the Turin shroud there.

Doc, I have looked at this photo and I am not finding what you want to show. Would you mind pointing out specifically where to look? Or even better posting a version where you have circled the area to look?

Henry look at the orange-yellow color on the forehead, it's a horizontally elongated form with a small round black doughnut-like image at its left edge. That gives the illusion/picture of a head.

Ooops, got it wrong, so you don't see a face at all.
OK, I'll add one more shot in a few moments.

Yes, I see the face now and I see a crack in the forehead. Is this what I you are seeing?

On the crack, at the intersection of four stones, at the angle of the upper left quadrant you'll see a n-like shadow, which is supposed to be discerned as a head. On the other quadrants (angle) there's a brownish area (upper chest, elongating up and down as arms) which continues to the right as an elongated yellowish form (constituting the body)...

Almost as amazing as the huge human face that showed up on Mars in one of the early photos from Mars orbit . . .

With best wishes,

I like the way the head is placed relative to the carved arches and cross, which form a heart - in more or less the right place - with the cross within in.

Textbook example of Pareidolia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia), or is it...

Nicely seen though. I do like the "mystery" surrounding such images and the theories behind it, especially when the scientific community gets involved and tries to unravel it. Sometimes it makes me laugh, sometimes makes me really curious.

All things aside, Novarank looks like a beautiful place to visit, Doc, with or without photogear.

Mark, who does believe in aliens

Hi Dr. Harout,

I'm glad you finally decided to share. The resemblence is very pronounced and reinforced by the inscriptions on the chest and the golden halo circling around the forehead...

I wish I could see it with my own naked eyes in that particular space along with other features of the church to see how the image correlates to the rest of the elements.

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz
