Re: Challenge 7: “Right Around That Corner!”
Had there been the glimpse of an A700+ model showing around the corner of this line-up of cameras, I'm sure that photo would have been the officially-most-viewed-and-ultimately-the winner-of-hearts entry of this challenge David! ...no matter how excellent some of the actual entries are already
(You have a good hand of cards and you're going by the rule of answering hearts' desire...which Sony consumer could resist? )
All the same, still an appropriate entry and stands a chance as an alternate interpretation !
Yildiz
ps. I know I have too many smilies, but I wished to make sure that Kevin knows I'm joking....

How does my picture stand a chance against these? After all, the new cameras do have lots and lots of corners...

Kevin,
The theme of the challenge is to show what is beyond the corner. So you can show what you (photos) could take with these things once you have
one (or more of) them in your "corner".
With best regards,
Sury

Re: Challenge 7: “Right Around That Corner!”
I will give it a go as I have not tried any challenges.
I had an idea but the weather is gonig to beat me over the next few days so this is the best I could get with the sun coming in and out of the clouds:
A900 17-35f/2.8-4@22mm, 1/320 f/9
Used tone curve in LR2 to bring out the sky.

Hi,
Finally, I was out to take some fresh photos today. Today's a special national holiday in Turkey and everyone was out and about which was nice to witness.
My contribution to the challenge is from a popular spot in Istanbul, the Ortakoy district where people of Istanbul love to shop and eat!
'Right around the corner' are the Ortakoy Mosque and the Bosphorus Bridge.
Yildiz
Sony A100 and CZ 16-80mm; no filters; minor post-production and sharpening.

Fond memories loved the History and sounds and sights.
Nice to hear that you know Istanbul even though it's more about the old times. I'm sure there's a lot that's changed if not unrecognizable.
I'll try to start a new thread on Istanbul and its districts starting off with the photos I shot today. Maybe you'll even recall some parts of the city, at least.
There are many more sounds and sights now with the new global beats also shaping up in different tunes as the locals see fit and places to see all these activities live. The history is still intact and can be found as you found them in the '70s...going nowhere...
Hope you visit once again in the future and revive your memories.

Here's what I need to enter here - but this was shot on the Nikon D700 when I was testing it
I am not sure that will be visible unless a login happens. I have just started created a personal stock library on The Imagefile (http://www.theimagefile.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) which offers me better options for maintaining my my own collection as a marketable item, than Alamy (also, whatever price you set for sales, they only take 25% and charge £5 a month for the facility). So far the quality looks good.
