C.D.C. Challenge 1: "Portraiture" - Submissions

As no-one else has yet started one of these I'll kick it off. I captured this image of my son having a 'kitchen sink' bath at the age of two. The camera was an Olympus C-750, I can't recall now if the flash fired - but I don't think it did as there was a large kitchen window immediately to the right flooding the area with light. No softening or sharpening has been applied overall or selectively. Left and right has been masked and filled with a graduated black to transparent overlay and then converted to B&W.

So start looking through your old files (or shoot it tomorrow) and find something interesting, cute or quirky that you can show us all as an example of portraiture captured on anything BUT an SLR.

Closing date will be Dec 12th, no more than 3 images. I will announce a judge(s) after I've had confirmation that the person(s) are willing to take on the responsibility.

Hi Ewannawe,

A very sweet portrait indeed.
Your son has very warm eyes and an expression that maintains innocence and you processed the photo nicely.

Thanks for sharing and kick-starting the Compact Digital Camera challenges. :D

Hi,

Just so we're all on the safe side and the right track everyone, this challenge is only open to non-SLR cameras.

C.D.C. is short for 'C'ompact 'D'igital 'C'amera.

Any compact digital camera from any brand including mobile phone cameras are eligible.

Thanks :)

  my mistake, didn't read all. It was mentioned: anything but an SLR.
Have to admit that I couldn't understand what's a CDC except for Center for Disease Control.
I'm removing my shot. Sorry again.

Hi Dr. Harout and welcome back after your trip! Nice to have you around. :D

Nothing to be sorry of really!

There are two additional challenge options which you can read about in the Photo Challenge section. I announced them last week.
One of them is the non-(D)SLR, C.D.C.s:

Challenges For All Compact Digital Cameras - Announcement

I preferred an abbreviation because it takes less space in the topic and we usually need the extra space.

Thanks for your understanding but I'm also sure that you have some nice photos taken with non-slrs.

We'd love to see them! :D

Nice shot Doc.. She's very pretty.

This is my daughter when she was a little girl.

No Flash.. but No light at all either. out here when it's dark it's like your eyes stopped working. this was during a power failure. She was terrified but she managed to get to sleep afterall and I was afraid of waking her. This and the last shot were F717 shots. this one was in nightshot mode (IR)

Is the Dimage 7Hi a "Compact" or a "point and shoot"?

I took this picture at dusk, somewhere in the middle of Mauritania while we were waiting for the tide to leave us drive trought the beach.

Regards.
PS: how many pics can we post?
