Did these with the help of my lovely wife, who manned the lighting off-camera with my DIY flash boom.

Kevin, beautiful shots, specially the red which is always accentuated on green.
I would think of de-centering the subject

A very nice face Dr. Harout,
Abundant with rich details and very soft eyes. His eyes remind me of my father's eyes. My father has greeny-blue eyes too..and his expression does have a resemblence: kind and considerate...
Thanks,
Yildiz
ps. Would love to see photos from your recent Beirut trip if you have any.

Re: Challenge 22: "Portraiture"- (D)SLRs only
Thanks, Doc! I actually started off by de-centering the subject in this series, but then I thought about maximizing subject size in the composition, which meant moving her to center. Most of the rest of the series is family group shots, so it helps keep some uniformity through them that this is as classically composed as the others.

This is called "Self Portrait", although it goes against the conventional "rules" of portraiture.

I hit the setting sun just right in this one. The only PP is a little cropping.

Interesting colours Lonnie,
The Sun certainly washed everything in sight with the yellowish tint...except the sky of course.
Gio67;
Lovely boy and lovely pose...A cute hide and seek appeal in there.

The sun set within 10 mins of me taking that shot.aster wrote:Interesting colours Lonnie,

Hope my son does not become a too repetitive feature of these comps, but he's the only model I have that is always available and comes very cheap! Here he is on a picnic day complete with crumbs round mouth and still with half a mouthful of sandwich.
When I view this image it reminds me I must a) Read the manual and/or b)Favour manual focus. Spot metering would have helped me, but manual focus would have given me even more control. You will note the camera has focussed on his shoulder!

Re: Challenge 22: "Portraiture"- (D)SLRs only
I don't often comment on the pictures submitted because there are so many over all the threads; but I think this is a superb effort, wonderfully crisp but countered by the expressive soft eyes of the subject. I imagine he attracts quite a lot of attention from the female species.Dr. Harout wrote:I think I know why Yildiz picked this challenge (one of the reasons). So thanks
