It is, in its own right. (but is not an entry)

I probably haven't seen every photo you have posted here over the years, but of the ones I have seen I think this is my favorite.aster wrote:Thank you, Henry!

Perhaps a bit on the obvious side but just in case I can't think of anything more subtle.

Obvious is good! I like it, and nice work with the filters!

Good composition and lots of over/under in it. But it does look a bit greenish to me - did you try with less green/more red? Maybe a side effect of the filters?

Mmm. I can see what you mean Thomas. I will have to have another look at it at the weekend.

This image does not qualify for the challenge, as it was taken in 2007, but I happened to be restructuring my image filing system and came across this photo - which I would have entered if it had qualified. It was taken about 2200 hours while returning from a restaurant to my San Diego hotel in May of 2007.
To you it may or may not look like an actual underwater scene in this image, but I can assure you that at first glimpse it looked very real to me that night - and I had not been drinking.
With best wishes,

Hi Tom,
With such available light the scene does appear as though there's a gigantic aquarium behind a glass... : ) And it is a nice real-looking sight.
Good catch,
Yildiz

Re: Photo Challenge #30: "Over and Under"
It looked very real at night, at least for a few seconds, and I assumed at the time that most of that was due to the relatively dim light at night. Two days later I went back to the same location during the day, out of curiosity. I was quite surprised to see how real it looked in daylight. It did not have as much impact as encountering the painting for the first time at night, but it was still rather effective. IMO, the artist did a very nice job that deserves praise.aster wrote:With such available light the scene does appear as though there's a gigantic aquarium behind a glass... : ) And it is a nice real-looking sight.
