Challenge #42: "Summer Moved On.."- ended
Hello everyone,
I would like to start a challenge that's in the context of the climate and season we're observing at the very moment in the Northern Hemisphere; Summer! : )
(Residents of the Southern Hemisphere; please don't be offended because I believe some of the land pieces that you're on are no less warm than what we're experiencing in our half. And, pleasse do join in! )
"Summer Moved On" is actually the title of a song by the Norwegian POP/ROCK band A-HA but this title fits our position in the summer season while we're fast approaching the fall days...
Show us your summer, your feeling of summer, your region of summer, your memories of summer....anything and everything that connects you with summer and its particularities.
Good luck and have fun!
Yildiz
Specifications:
* The challenge ends on 30 August 2011.
* The dimensions should not exceed 1024*1024 pixels and the size is recommended to be less than 250 Kb if the photo is to be uploaded using the forum 'attachment feature' . Those photos that are linked from an external website are exempted from this 250 Kb-size limitation.
* You may enter with as many photos as you like.

Oh dear, I'm afraid Summer around these parts is a kind of dark time--lately all we're hearing about is water conservation, saving power in the afternoon while everyone's air conditioners run non-stop, and increased deaths among elderly and homeless populations.

Indeed it has been a dark time here in Texas this summer, Kevin. I'm thinking of making an entry that reflects that. I've got to work on some ideas...KevinBarrett wrote:Oh dear, I'm afraid Summer around these parts is a kind of dark time--lately all we're hearing about is water conservation, saving power in the afternoon while everyone's air conditioners run non-stop, and increased deaths among elderly and homeless populations.
If the last thing you remember hearing is somebody yelling 'CLEAR!!!', assume you've had a problem!!

Despite it been the middle of winter here in Australia, we have had an unusually warm week which was very summer like, and to top that off I also spent a few nights up the coast on a get-away. I snapped this lovely swan, on lake Myall, which my cabin was located on the edge of.
Summer is always about relaxing away on the banks of a watery retreat for me

Hi Artington, artington wrote:I'm really dismayed to read that summer ends on August 30th!!
Well, officially it doesn't but the challenge does. : ) As Long as you live summery in your heart no calender or Solar system can dictate you to end your 'personal summer'.
The reason I set 30th and not August 31st or September 20th as the final day for the challenge was that may be the August 31 could be a day for festivities-at-heart as the last day od August and you can toast to the 'namely' end of Summer; a hearty way to embrace September of Fall and the signs of emerging 'sleep'. : )
Cheers!

Now, all that's to be anticipated by me is a few wonderful shots from you.

Kevin, John, Artington, Pako and every other I might have missed;
Looking forward to all thoughts and conceptual photos that are the products of your own world and observations.
This one was a different Summer for sure.
