Photoclubalpha

During the first day of the spring season at Old Faithful, I saw more Sonys than any other camera make, and more Alphas than any other DSLR. These were just two of the Alphas I spotted; there was at least one more a100 and an a300/350. Most P&S cameras were Sonys, including several "T" series, an H10, and (hooray!) a big ol' R1.

Other DSLRs seen on this day were a Hasselblad, a D3, an entry level Nikon, and a Rebel. Other P&S cameras were a Canon SX10, and smattering of Fuji bridge cameras. The only film camera I saw was a Maxxum 600si wearing a 28-105.

Uncle Sam in stovepipe hat using 70-300mm SSM with monsterhood
Rakishly angled jaunty hat man, using petal hood fixed at wrong angle
Man sleeping with hat on face, with camera with lens cap on resting on tum
Man with big Ray-Bans, using camera with big Lee filter polariser rig
Elizabethan ghost with head crooked under one arm, holding body without lens and lens in other hand

Of course, women will do just as well. All you have to do is find these matches between lens hood/lens and the person shooting!

The first 2 I can handle, but I'd have to shoot them on the kids P&S, as I have only one Alpha at present. (If I had $800 to spare, I'd soon have that a700 + 16-105 talked about elsewhere!).
#'s 3 & 4 I have the actors for, but not the lenses.
# 5 would have to have a more definitive definition of "Rakishly angled jaunty hat".
# 6 is doable.
# 7 - no Ray-Bans or Lee rig.
#8 - I'm not that good with Photoshop of The GIMP!

OK, just make it simpler. Two pictures in profile of Alpha man.

One with baseball cap on backwards, lens hood fitted in reverse position ('the idiot's lens hood') mode

One with baseball cap on forwards, lens hood normally fitted

Otherwise, identical pictures. Best pair of shots like this gets into Photoworld!

When I uploaded the pair above, it occurred to me that if the two shots were side by side, they'd look like they were dueling...

That could be me ya know (and the hood might just be seen stored on my wrist like a supehero's arm band, the ones used to reflect death rays and the like...)

In my defense, I usually store my lenses in my pack like that and often I will hand hold GND filters when shooting. I can't do that with the hood on "normal"....
