Sony np-fm500 batteries ?

Unread post by Birma »

Does anyone have any tips for UK np-fm500 batteries? (The big slr/t ones :) )? I'm after another spare.

Amazon have them at £39.99 with postage.

I'm also interested in any third party recommendations.

I bought a Hannel one and it was doggie-doo. It got jammed in my A580 and it took ages to get it out. It also caused the cameras to lock up so I binned it.

A few Canon guys used generics from 7Dayshop.com with no issues. Don't know if they do Sony ones.

Thanks Mike. I saw Hannel ones today in the local LCE but as they were 39.99 I wasn't very tempted. Looks like I had a lucky escape. That is a good tip.

This make seems good to me testing and using it for a while now no problems at all charging or % remaining bang on

Thanks for the top tip, Barry! At £7.59 each on Amazon today it is worth a punt :)

Birma, I bought 4 generics from Hong Kong via e-bay several years ago. One was bad off the bat and they replaced it right away - didn't even have to send it back. The others are still with me, but they do go dead about 10% faster than the genuine Sonys.

At what I paid for them they were a bargain. I did post about them at the time, search and you may find the info.

I dream about having a local LCE or WEX etc. Just to be able to actually play with the various cameras and lenses. The only local shop in Aberdeen in Jessops and they have a couple of bodies A58 and A7 but virtually no lenses.

Well if the UK rank 1 reviewer rates it I'm not going to question his judgement

Good point BF. :)

Got mine charged up in the camera. Just need an opportunity to get out and use it.
