I wish Sony will not do the same error as my Camcorder Samsung in 1080i, where if you put a SD card not too fast the camera film normaly ... but ... when it is time to look at the movie, it is corrupt :-(.

I have lost about 5 good movies with my girlfriend on beautiful sunset because of a third party class 6 SD card. So now i'm only putting Real Sandisk Ultra card in it.

With the price of the memory now ... I don't know why they do not put at least a 4 gig of DDR2 RAM in the camera to handle buffer and write it after .... Even with a small Capacitor, there is way to keep the information and store it after that on the SD Card.

Regards,

Sony states SD Card Class 4 or faster will work. Given that 4GB MS Duo Mark II is not exactly a speed demon, and worked fine, I'm pretty sure they will have tested typical Class 4 SD cards.

All mine are Class 6 or better.

Lexar just sent me 32GB 300X and 600X CF cards and a Firewire 800 reader to test. Superb. Incredible speed for transfer to the Mac - and I don't have a camera body fast enough to match the cards!

Not all SD cards are the same. The rated speeds are not the same according to here

I have been using Trascend Class 6 without any problem in my Canon camcorder.

Sure, not all are the same. Canon now has my Inov8 16GB card which won't work at all with their cams. they got Sandisk to send me a replacement, but it was only 4GB - not a fair exchange! But 30MB/s speed.
