Trying to take picture of the eye of my kid yesterday with the MFC-1000 Ring flash I was thinking that I have not seen anything related to a possible adapter to support standard Alpha flash ?
Even not heard about the possibility to control wireless flash with the small flash provided with the Nex3 and 5.
David ? have you got time to ask this question to Sony representative.

Frank

Re: Flash adapter for the Alpha Mount ?
I have asked whether the flash employs a pre-flash protocol and they could not answer. Whether it does or not, there are ringflash and regular flash devices which work with either single on camera flash pop, or preflash burst 'learned synchronisation', they are made to work with compacts.
KM/Sony flash - maybe not. Some other brand - it will be possible.
