Any opinions on their results?

Looks about right to me 8)

Compared to similar sized m4/3 cams from Panny and Oly

A thorough spanking of the other little guys...Dynamic Range seems to definitely be up there with the best in APS-C.

Fanboys, rejoice. Seriously, though, it's how it should be, in theory. Larger sensor wins, all else being equal. In ideal conditions, though, it probably doesn't matter a lot.

It just makes me all the more anxious to see what sensor gets put in the a7XX...not that the NEX-5 doesn't have my attention.

What's interesting is that DxO claim the sensor in the NEX is not simply a revision of the CMOS from the A550, which I had assumed it was. They say it has a different (smaller) sensel size/pixel pitch, higher resolution by a tiny margin.

The sensor is similar to the one used in the A550, but modified and updated. One major difference is that the new sensor is optimised for extended video recording, suffering much less from heat buildup and the associated image quality degradation.
