That's interesting Gio as you're the first complaining of it being small. How about the lenses?

I tried the camera in the shop with the 16mm lens, then I had a friends for a couple of hours ,that had the 18-55 kit lens, I really only want to use the 16mm but with either of the lenses the camera felt a bit uncomfortable in my hands and not really well balanced, especially with the 18-55 it seemed like the lens held the camera,
I had a look around to see what else was available as by this time i had the dreaded " I must buy something bug" and settled for the panasonic, i liked it,s retro look and it felt right for me , I will only have the 20mm lens , as for pocketability none of them with other than the 16mm or 20 mm are really pocketable and if i have to take a camera out that is not pocketable at all I'll take my 700,
as everything photographic it will last me forever till the next greatest thing comes along

heres a couple of pics re. the sizes, theres not much difference side on with the lenses fittted, just that the overall weight, size and balance was my personal opinion and not a generalisation

I tend to walk round with a camera held in the curl of my fingers - even the A900 - and the strap loose, maybe over my wrist but not always. The NEX is great for holding like that; the Panasonic does not have enough grip to suit me. Other ways, I prefer the style of the Panasonic, but a 40mm lens equivalent is no substitute for the 24mm lens equivalent in my work.

I agree -- the grip is really nice for keeping a good hold on the camera. However, I'd like a 40mm equiv. lens. Then again, that's the problem with primes. You will want at least a couple of angles covered.... I wouldn't want JUST the 40, but I'm afraid the 24 equiv. wouldn't be sufficient either.

Anyway, I like the look of the GF1. Seems like a nice enough camera.

I hold my cameras the same way. Works great with NEX-5.
