So I'm to spend twice as much for this camera as compared to the NEX just to get they hybrid viewfinder and I can't remove the lens? Ok...... :?

Just my sentiment. Cannot understand why anyone would even look at this device.

I like the X100, and I have plenty of interchangeable lens cameras. If the sensor is up to snuff, I'll probably bite. Reminds me of my Olympus 35 SP.

I think that's the problem... Yeah, the camera seems cool, maybe has more buttons than the Nex, built-in OVF sounds neat, but are you willing to pay for it all? And it'll still have limitations. Maybe someone can point out the perfect camera -- small, cheap, large sensor, and all that with the most light-gathering power, supports RAW and video, manual functions, and easy to use. And online connectivity and GPS. And MP3 player....and.... ;)

Brandon is the Fuji Rep for NY, nice guy and good photographer -and I hope I'll get a preview of the camera thanks to him ;-)
On this post, he show the different "film simulation" modes. I hope we'll have more samples soon.

This is what I'll call "doggie-doo creep" on digital cameras. I don't need a camera all junked up with every wiz-bang gimmick that they can think to stuff into it. That's much easier done in PP, and I'll be you can get a lot more options there, too. Also, I won't have to fill my memory card up with 3 times the shots just to get it done. One correctly exposed photo, lots of PP options!

I don't need DRO. It doesn't make my A850 a "doggie-dop creep" camera...

Ouch! There goes the second hand price on eBay
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

This sounded very interesting when it first arrived but then the reports of some pretty iffy handling problems and poor firmware kinda killed off any interest I might have had. Plus for some odd reason Fuji used "focus by wire" which is frankly a crime to have on such a camera.

I still like the concept and the hybrid OVF/EVF but the X100 looks a bit more miss than hit I'd wait for the inevitable X200 to appear at a later date and hopefully iron out some problems.

Yes Barry at the current price this camera definately needs some refinements IMO. Not sure it will ever catch up though as the target is continually advancing - ala NEX 7.

Maybe when potential users see what the new OLED viewfinder can do they will forget about the OVF/EVF mixed solution as found in the Fuji X100. Here is a another leak with a A77 comparison with A55. I presume that the NEX-7 will have the same viewfinder. http://www.dchome.net/viewthread.php?ti ... a=page%3D1
Looks impressive to me. The time lag should also have been reduced making the actual view closer to an OVF. I am sure it will still not satisfy Walther Knapp.

Well to me the big "pull" of the X100 was the hybrid OVF/EVF viewfinder. It's a choice you have and I welcome that greatly.
Fuji are also supposed to be working on a premium compact (S95 ish but mini X100 style) with an optical viewfinder (not sure if it's hybrid) Again people are crying out for this..so I'm glad Fuji are at least trying.

I've no problems with an EVF if I can use an OVF too. EVF only..nah no thanks!
It still annoys me using the back LCD on my compact so I'm def on the lookout for something with an OVF.

The new NEX looks pretty nice but at £1000 odd I'd rather just get a premium compact with an OVF for far less.
