One thing the NEX 7 sensor like is telephoto lenses and even more a to much great 200mm Macro lens .
I was waiting for this moment since a long day to be able to do macro with a lcd screen. Probably the A77 will be better, but I don't have it and for the moment I mostly looking to get another camera only when a next FF will be there with lcd live view.
So here is my new macro setup:
- Flexible tripod
- 200mm 4.0 macro
- original minolta twin flash kit
- metal 72mm extension hood
- custom 72mm adapter for twin flash macro kit
- 72 mm hoya pro filter (I will removed this one when sensor will be enough good to see the difference without one filter ...)
The first shot taken with this setup in the short time I got in family holiday :
(cropped from original: very tiny flower after the rain)
(cropped from original: this one was very hard to take ... it is a mom with the baby, where the small one are almost impossible to see with human eyes)

most of this picture when cropping to 1:1 get perfect detail for gigantic macro printing...
For the moment the missing element is the limitation of the Sony NEX 7 of the flash sync 1/160 that is in many way to short for macro timing when the subject is in fast movement or for handled shot at 200mm ( yes David ... ~170mm at 1:1), I wish to have 1/250 in a future model ...
I'm confident that the Minolta 200mm 4.0 Macro can handle even more MPix in APS-C sensor than 24MP. Or you can use with no problem the 1.4 tele-converter of Minolta if you want more reach with perfect detail rendition.
