Physical size of Nex E mount lenses

Unread post by Mark K »

Has anyone noticed that all Nex E lenses are very similar in their physical sizes? This makes us easier to take them down underwater. Theoretically I do not need to buy too many extra ports for their housings...if there is any

Just about! There are three basic sizes I can see, we'll call them the Pancakes (16, 20, 16-50), the Standards (24, 30, 35, 50, 18-55), and the 18-200s (18-200, 18-200, 18-200, did I miss one?).

I haven't been very impressed by that lens, so it doesn't count. I moderate the Sony Camera Club on Flickr, including the image submissions, so I see a lot of different gear. The SEL-55210 images I can always spot from thumbnail size--it is slow and soft everywhere but in the out-of-focus areas, where it has very harsh bokeh.

Well, it definitely exists! I think it is OK for its price and size, not great, but OK for its intended market.
