Low light techniques

Unread post by mikeriach »

Seeing the comments on the Twilight feature on the new Sony point and shoot thingy reminded me that on the aviation forums there have been quite a few set up opportunities for low light photography of aircraft.
Several guys tried out a very short burst of 2 or 3 frames then combined in PS to assist in reducing the overall noise which I assume they mean the random coloured pixels etc.
It was apparently quite effective compared to a single frame even using noise reduction.
If I get an opportunity I'll have to give it a try but at present it is not a good idea to be loitering at Aberdeen airport at night since some protesters staged a sit-in on the runway yesterday!

All my Sony SLT gear gone. Still got my RX100 though.
