Omits to profile the 16mm. Maybe that's something I can do.

Re: ACR 6.2 and LR 3.2 release candidate
I have made a simple (f/2.8 and f/8 chart set) profile for the 16mm. It seems to work well for closer distances, because that's how it had to be made; CA is reasoanably well corrected, vignetting is eliminated, and distortion of closer lines - maybe if you are looking through a door frame, etc - is very accurate.
You can get this profile here:
http://www.photoclubalpha.com/Sony%20NE ... %20RAW.lcp
or try (if your system doesn't like space)
http://www.photoclubalpha.com/Sony_NEX- ... _-_RAW.lcp
Either way, right click to download/save the target file, and install this in:
Library>Application Support>Adobe>Camera Raw>Lens Profiles>Sony

See this:

I'll redo the links - the Smilies got in and wrecked the links

Yep, in that page too the closing bracket is missing.
Got it anyway, and tried on a test image from IR: works very well, perhaps the vignetting correction is a tad overdone (looks like a problem in the beta release of the adobe profile creator, I have seen other profiles suffering the same problem).
Cheers

Not sure what you mean - the link on the website page works fine, I just right-clicked and saved the .lcp file without problems.
All vignetting correction is always overdone. A certain degree looks natural, but the profile tries to make a perfectly even illumination. That looks to the eye as if the corners are too bright.

Sorry, what I see in the website page isDavid Kilpatrick wrote:Not sure what you mean - the link on the website page works fine, I just right-clicked and saved the .lcp file without problems.
David
Code: Select all
http://www.photoclubalpha.com/Sony NEX-5 (Sony E 16mm F2.8 – RAW.lcp
If I try to post the URL with the closing bracket in its place ")" I get a smile... It's the "8" plus ")"
Do 'Disable Smilies' before you post. I don't know why you are seeing CODE brackets.
It works fine for me and seems to have worked for other people. I will rewrite and resave the web page, see if that helps.
David
Now it's ok.
I didn't see CODE brackets, I used them to show exactly what I was seeing. The link now is working. Perhaps a cache issue. Thank you.

I give up...
Where should I exactly save the file and under which format?

Re: ACR 6.2 and LR 3.2 release candidate
You save the file as a text file with the extension .lcp (it is a script). Save it in the Camera Raw folder/directory which can be found either in your user library/registry, or in the system's library/registry. I do not know exactly how Windows gives access to this stuff, on a Mac we have a Camera Raw application support folder for every user, and also a locked (admin only) original install. I find the profile is best placed in the main one, alongside all the other .lcp files.
Why not just do a search for files with the .lcp extension, and then you will find exactly where the directory is that they all live.

thanks David.
Would be great to have such data with different combos. And let everyone visit here to get them.
Are there any data for A700+ different lenses by chance?

I am limited by time - a zoom lens takes about one hour or more to profile. However, I have been amazed by the response to the post. It's doubled the normal visitor rate to the site.

I don't have LR (at least not yet) and don't have the lenses you have profiled, but if I did and if I did then I would be downloading the profiles too!

Re: ACR 6.2 and LR 3.2 release candidate
hehe, I knew it. You were everywhere on the net lately. e.g. alpha rumors mentioned you many times during the last week. I'm really expecting an increase in the membership.David Kilpatrick wrote:I am limited by time - a zoom lens takes about one hour or more to profile. I wish I knew how to make those profiles and be of assistance.

Definitely, so why not make an advantage of it in favor of Photoclubalpha. Think of increased hits, thus increase (probable) in membership, advertisements and even possible sponsorship.bakubo wrote: Free stuff always attracts people.
