LR3 - Graduated Filter Help

Can someone point me to a nice tutorial on how to use the graduated filter tool in LR3?

I also have Bibble and seem to use their graduated filter plugin with great ease compared to LR3 - but, LR3 has better individual sliders for highlights and lights also - so, I'd like to use those in conjunction with their graduated filter. What happened to me, was that I was able to get most of the highlights recovered with the filter, but for some reason not all, due to placement in the middle of the photo...

I'm not sure about LR but if you work in ACR the graduated filter control points can be dragged outside the frame area, by reducing the image size on screen.
