ARW 2.0 vs 2.1

Unread post by Javelin »

I'm working my way through a bunch of raw images I took today and it struck me that IDC3 is asking me to change my files from ARW 2 to ARW 2.1. whats the difference? you would think the camera would already be writing the newest ARW files in firmware 4. but now is this going to cause any problems editing these files again in anything else like CS3 for example?

I wanted to try and do all my raw work with IDC3 to see how it goes. but I'll use ACDsee to make the jpgs .. did I just buy myself a bunch of trouble by converting these files?

You might render them unreadable by other applications, that's all :-)

Same sort of effect as A900 files opened in non-updated utilities looked like. When ACDSee gets an A900 updated, the files will look normal again.
