JB,
I missed the link in your post. I will take a look at home tonight. My company does not allow access to file sharing sites.

No problems Sury. If you want I can give you the raw file so you can really fiddle with it if you'd like.sury wrote:Jeff,
I took the advise of JB and input from you. Watched Youtube on taking photos and post processing. I took the liberty of using your photo to experiment in LR. I sincerely apologize if I took undue liberty in experimenting with your photo without your prior consent. Please let me know and I will remove the post. My intent is only to demonstrate what I learned.
With best regards,

Here are a couple that I shot the other night and the way back into town. Elevation is just over 14,200 ft (4328 meters) and makes for some clear skies.

Hi, Jeff,
Beautiful Andes with starlit night skies. Very soothing to look at and observe.
I'm curious as to what's going on in the second photo; why is the horizon so bright white/what's that light's source and is it icy water that has pieces of ice floating in the shallow water ?
Hopefully you will read this message before next year.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz

Lots of great photos here. Here is one in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany in 2005. Used the KM 7D + Sigma 18-125mm f3.5-5.6.

Hi Yildiz. Thanks for the comments. In regards to the last one, the white on the horizon is the lights from the large city of Arequipa, in the lowlands beyond the mountains. The water is a very shallow "dead" lake. That is, it doesn't have any way for the water to leave. It is a salt lake or rather a borax lake. However, they are not biologically dead, as the flamingos are always wading across it and eating something that grows there. These types of lakes are very common in this part of the mountains.

JT, awesome link. Atacama is just south of here. Looks like I need to just carry my photo gear back up and make a timelapse.

Nice photo Henry.

Thank you for the clarification and taking the time to do so, Jeff. Much appreciated.
Thanks for sharing the lovely photos.
