Thanks for the encouragement Robbie. Yes that last hawk image can be improved. It was one of my first real captures and my inexperience shows. I chose to leave it as is to remind me to always see in terms of composition.
Here is one more image that is less than perfect but is still attractive to me. It was early morning on Kiawah Island when I was giving the 600mm a test drive. There is a certain water color feeling to it (at least I think so).

Now this is kewl.. dark background with light on bird making it stand out.. just either the top or bottom needs a slight crop to bring the bird onto one of the thirds.. but bird sharp and great pose with reflection..

Gee Whiz, some excellent shots being shown here.

Robbie, I would not know what we have here but the bird you ask about looks like
some sort of Stilt.

Gustav, I have been after eagles a few times without any luck. I know where they are but the traveling
makes it some what expensive to be out there with them.
Great shots.

White fronted chat birds, male and female I presume.

I was actually out after eagles and hawks when I must have positioned myself between them and the nest.
No eagles and the like, but did bring these home on the card.

Heavens above, I look at these shots and feel giddy .
The older I get the more I have to watch myself near high places.
I used to be able to walk steel girders in the construction industry when young, but not now.

I'd kill to be able to get just one shot like yours. :D
