Greeting cards in CS4

Unread post by wildabout »

Has anyone got a simple way to create greeting cards in CS4?.
Whenever I try to do them-it all looks OK on screen, but when it comes to print the image never seems to be in the right place on the card

Study the print dialog window with the preview of the image position. Use the position offset and image scale controls.

It works 100% if the paper is the same size as you specify in the setup and no unwanted margins are added.

Hi again David-where do I find the scale image and position offset controls?just had a look and cant see them
Also if I print a card 7x5 image ,the paper would be 7x10 what paper size would I use for this-as 10x8 seems to be the obvious closest choice?
I do hope I'm not being a pain with this, but your help is appreciated

I don't what system you are using, but Photoshop's print dialogues include a full preview positioned on the paper, in miniature.

You can use the offsets and the scaling and centering, along with 90 degree rotation steps, to place the image anywhere you like exactly on the paper.

Are you saying that you don't get a choice for the paper size you want to use?

I think the sizes you can choose from come from the printer driver so try to set a custom size (it might say
"user defined") in the printer driver and then choose that in CS4.
