Well ... I have to go to the small town to have internet, so I'm not able for the moment to really share my complete experience.

But for the moment I'm really impressed with the video quality with good lenses.

I have tried 200mm 4.0 macro, and 50-500mm bigma and most of the time 58mm 1.2.
(Bigma at 500mm early in the morning, full aperture : no control for the moment :-))

(bigma again a 500mm)

(200mm 4.0)

This morning really good shots with extension tube Kenko combined + 58mm 1.2 at F16 (need good light outside). (video next time ...)

It is my first time on youtube ... to, I just been able to updload file and that's it. I will come back to town to add comments and details.

See you in few days.

Regards,

Frank
(in the wood where cell phone and electricity is not there :-) ).

The ladybug type beetle is good, focus hard to follow with so much movement, the other two are a bit - empty? But nice bokeh :-)

Well, the boring video is more for my cinema in my house, to remember the good moment in the forest.

There is so plenty of good nature moment :-).

For the Ladybug video, I have done some other experiences, and here is one result I have found time to upload on the pit stop to the town today :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ2JFUj7jWs

MACO 1:1 with the 58mm F1.2 and Kenko extension tubes at F16 light compensation on the camera at +1 EV (you can control it if you are not in Automatic i on the camera). I tried to improved the skill to focus tracking manually small object in movement.

I have other video, but I will only be able to upload them at my return to home.

Movies combined with old manual focus lenses (control on the aperture) bring very interesting video with the small NEX 5 body. For fast movement, you have to be in AVCHD ... I have found the MPEG 4 not very smooth ... (but I have to do some test again to confirm).

Regards,

Frank

Pretty amazing considering you have no stabilisation! Very good follow focus on the caterpillar. Beauty or alien-ness, can't decide. Not good to meet close up.

Hi Frank - I like the video of the caterpillar. In just that short clip you can learn a lot about how they move around. Bravo! :D
