Finally the sun shone here in Scotland yesterday and I had time on my hand. Took a trip to costal resort town Largs on the Clyde Estuary and tried out my NEX kit. I fitted my ClearViewer and it really is quite good and the poor man's EVF on the NEX-5. The rich man is still waiting for Sony to come up with the goods. I am impressed by this little thing as I get better and better at not pressing the wrong buttons at the wrong time.
I took images with the 17-55mm zoom, my repaired pancake and the U/W converter fitted to the 16mm giving me 18.5mm (35mm equivalent). All the lenses impressed me at 100%. Could nont really detect any unsharpness at the corners. Could not see any deterioration in image quality by fitting the U/W but more CA (fairly easily removed in LR3.) The kit in a small bag is a fraction of the weight and size of my A580 with a couple of lenses.
Three pictures attached with 1755, 16mm and 16mm with converter. This is great gear to take anywhere including Ryanair & Easyjet 10kg bags. I must confess I enjoyed excellent fish and chips in the Nardini restaurant.
Very pleased with my NEX outfit and looking forward to more lenses becoming available.

Here are a couple of images with the ClearViewer attached to my NEX-5. The lens enlarges and covers the whole 3x2 area of the NEX rear screen. As you can see from picture 2 the ClearViewer folds neatly against the rear screen when camera not in use. I can also be meved below if the rear screen only is used. the viewer is screwed into the tripod bush.

Nice shots Alphaomega and an interesting set up. The Nex is a very appealing package with it's small size. I saw that the Nex 3 with 16mm is down to £299 today at Best Cameras. With the 16mm being £190 on its own you could see it as £110 for the camera  .
