I would love to have it chipped The only way I could capture good shoots in manual focusing with this lens was the use of lifeview of my a500 because its viewfinder is not that clear.. Here is another shot

Beautiful sunset, Armen, but you should level the horizon.

I just love this lens. Chipped it lately and SSS is on for it. But the following shot was before chipping.

So Doc, where did you get the lens "chipped"? Just curious. I got the Rokinon brand and played with it last night. Here are samples on both A900 and A700. Obviously I need to get a better hang of it. It was a pain for me to focus late last night. Should have better luck today. With best regards, Sury A900 Sample. Sury, I chipped it myself. Ordered a chip on eBay and went on a DIY (Do It Yourself - I'm opening the abbreviation myself or Henry will ) job. There are pros and cons with chipping, but much more pros than cons.

Thank you Doc for your prompt response. I am trying to get a hang of the lens. I was trying the manual mode and having fewer keepers. I switched to A mode and having a better luck. Looks like that lens is better in bright light compared to low light. I guess it is time to do more experiments to get a hang of it. I need to investigate the "chipping" business. What did you look for on eBay if you don't mind me asking. With best regards, Sury

You have to mail them and ask for chipping the EXIF preset for 85/1.4 paying an additional $3 (they'll give you the link on eBay). After you receive it, look carefully for a Photoworld issue where David had detailed the procedure. It's not hard.

It's in Photoworld "Autumn 09" (= 2009 #4) But you have to be a subscriber to access it.

This lens is much easier to use on a77 than a700. I had much hit or miss with the latter, but with the a77 it's a hit every time. a77v + Rokinon 85/1.4 @f/2.8 1/125s ISO 400
