After more than a week with a fever I finally felt good enough to go out again. Had a good hour or 2 in the forest again. The weather was great, not to cold and enough sunlight too!

#1 & 2 Blue tit (Parus caeruleus)

One of the first birds I met today was this Blue tit. He or she was just sitting in the thick of a bush. I was fortunate enough to capture this image of it. Best image I took this year! The second was from the same bird while it hopped out of the thickness and posed very cute before my lens :)

#3 - Great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major)

Found this woodpecker sitting low near the ground punching holes in the trunk it was sitting on.

Image

#4 Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)

Not the best image, but I had to post it due to the luck I had capturing this one. I was at home, looking into my backyard where I saw this chaffinch in my neighbors tree. I had my camera on tripod in the attic and captured this one on 2s timer. Pure luck!

Glad that you're better Mark, and able to get back to the woods :) . Very nice pictures, and as you say, the Blue Tit shots are especially good.

Good to see you out and about Mark & posting these wonderful shots. Especially like 1 & 2 of the Blue Tits. I get quite a few like your last shot, a complete blur. Your fleeing bird turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

Marvellous shots Mark, I like the cute Tit of course, but I especially like the Woodpecker looking for grubs.

DA (el supremo) you must be happy with those, they are excellent photos of that cute little birdie (whatever it is) and the amazing thing is the little chap is a obviously a wild bird out in the bush somewhere.

Great little bird DA, and superbly taken. Some sort of Tit perhaps? A nice sunny day to be out in the bugs :D

I'm not sure what it is either, but it sure is a cute little one, and nicely captured too!

Thanks Greg, Birma & jcoffin.

Greg, I took these in the bush, it's all farmland or bush out there between towns.
It's a Black-Capped Chickadee, they do get curious sometimes, but never stop moving from branch to branch.

Mark and David, you both did wonderfully with these shots.

:D Great sharpness on both of the bird species in the busy bushes, especially as these small birds are vey fast in their moves.

Love the Blue Tit, Mark. : ) Love the Black-capped Chickadee, David. : )

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz

That's one fine little bird you caught there DA. The only birds that look similar around here are the Marsh and Willow Tit. Great captures!

Couldn't help myself when I was in London last week. There were starlings everywhere and so close, that I could use the CZ16-80 on the long end to capture them. All shot with the a580+VG and CZ16-80 @ 80mm. All shot near the Tower of London.

Very nice 'Sparrows' Mark ha ha, I think you meant to say Starlings, but getting close is hard to beat alright, I wish wild birds would be so unconcerned about being approached so closely.
