Dennis, nice shot and congrats for your new toy.
With that specialized lens we are waiting for more macro shots.

Nice macro shots, everyone.

Dennis, in good hands the Tamron 90mm is a very good lens. The ant shot proves to be a tertimony for that. : )
It certainly looks like, it stepped out of an alien movie.

Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing many more. : )

Some really good close ups and macros guys. The Sigma is looking very sharp too Dennis.
Greg

I chopped this seedpod off the Foxtail Palm before it got too big; they make a huge mess if you don't.
It was quite popular with lots of creepy crawlies and greeblies, I originally went to get the camera because I spotted a small (maybe 4mm) metallic blue spider with an abdomen that bobbed up and down, but when I got back I couldn't find it. So I had to be content with a couple of the more mundane types.

For some reason the Foxtail pod was popular with flies as well.

Very, very nice Greg - love all of those shots with the KM 100 Macro. The first mini-beast looks very strange with those enourmous antenna. (I'm sort of glad you missed the spider ;) .)

I have been experimenting with some MD lenses on my Nex and I got hold of a very reasonable set of MD extension tubes which has allowed me to do some close-ups (not sure this is a true 'macro' shot).

2012 Flowers - Bumble Bee in flower by Birm, on Flickr

This is with Nex 5 and Minolta MD 135mm f/2.8 with 21mm extension tube. I had to resort to rocking backwards and forwards to focus and the lighting was getting dull so ISO 1600 had to be used to keep everything steady. I will be looking into focusing rails I think, with the stacking s/w recently discussed.
