Here are few shots of Blackstone Glacier and a piece of floe with some birds on it. The floe you see is only 10% of the mass of ice floating.

Sury, first and second shots are really great, first depicting wildlife in a cold environment and the second showing nature as it is. Third shot is a kind of "point-and-shoot"-ish quality wise (old point and shoot cameras, not like a RX-100, if you know what I mean).
BTW, what lens did you use for the 1st shot? Any e.v. compensation ?
Eagerly waiting for more shots. Did I say I love Alaska's nature?

Loving the Alaskan shots Sury :) What an amazing blue colour in the ice. I'm with the Doc on #1 and #2. That must have been a great trip. Any more?

I love the range of expressions in the birds populating the top of the iceberg, ranging from total disinterest (asleep), through mild incomprehension (half asleep), semi dormant alertness (the lights are on but nobody is home), too smug acceptance (fat dumb and happy).

Greg, Birma and Doc,
Thank you.
Doc, I too agree with your assessment on the third one. The third one looks fine on my monitor.

I used Tamron 28-200 and Tamron 200-500 on this trip though I took Sigma 70-300 and Tamron 60mm
as well with me.

I did upload a couple in Birds 2012 as well.

All these shots were with Tamron 200-500.

Is this any better?

That one is much better Sury, it looks like it is in focus or maybe the shutter speed was better.

Greg,
Oh, good. All these were taken from the moving boat and very likely I lost focus just as I clicked.
Here is a WA shot of the glacier.

Much improved Sury :)

Great colours in that last one, and a fabulous reflection.

Sury, I find that glacier shot splendid. Very dramatic, I would say. Looking at it, you decide not to come closer.
Second shot is wonderful.
More, more, more.........

Doc,
Thank you. I do have some that come closer. My flickr upload is very slow for some reason. I am making progress though. :)

Sury

Lots of floating cool ice comes as a welcome scene, Sury.

Is one of the shots tilted on side or did Global Warming finally did it and we are on the brink of sliding off of the face of the Earth? :D
( #28043 I think. )

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz

Yildiz,
I think I know why. The photographic evidence is below. BTW, these Margaritas were made with the purest ice you can get on earth.
The cruise boat hauled a piece of ice fallen from the glacier to make that drink. The shot was handheld from a moving boat so it is
likely that I caught the tilt.

That must have been a humbling experience between all these mighty mountains and vast seas of ice. Great images you've taken sury!

Mark,
Yes it was. A great experience over all. The varied landscape bowled me over.
The place is so majestic, you struggle between watching the scenery and capturing it.

Sury
