Okay, I have a couple of shots, and they don't really fit into anything we have here as a subject, so I thought I would create a topic where we post the odd or out of ordinary shots we are sometimes lucky enough to come upon.

Everyone should feel free to post here or comment here.

This is the first one. We stopped in the other night at a fast food joint that was having a "Princess Party Night", complete with carriage rides with Cinderella! As I was taking a few shots of my little princesses in on the carriage ride, it struck me as funny to see it next to this sign. But then again, even a princess has to eat and run sometimes!

This one is the same place. As the sun started to go down, my daughter remarked "That cloud looks like a volcano." So I took a few shots.

I brought up the shadows a bit so the trees didn't look like mud, and increased the saturation just a smidgen to give it a bit more 'fire'. All in Raw Therapee.

Well, these two I thought would fit the theme at the least in spirit.

This is from the downtown Vacaville, California. These statues were in the middle of the road divider.
The trees are real though.

This one is an interesting one because there is a cricket pitch in the middle of a vineyard in the hills south of San Jose, CA. A cricket pitch in U.S. of A, and that too in the middle of a vineyard are hopefully not your daily occurrences. At least those of us from cricket playing countries might appreciate the oddity of the scene.

Great Cinderella carriage Dusty and I agree the mountain and cloud formation does look like a volcano, not that I’ve got much experience first hand with volcanoes.
What are those statues actually doing Sury? picking apples?
A cricket field and pitch in the US? I wonder if they use it. I suppose if they have gone to the trouble of building it I guess they do, they might become part of the tour and we might have to go and play 20 over matches there some day.

Greg, the "mountain" in the shot is just a darker cloud layer, that's what what makes it so great! My daughter had a good eye to catch it like that.

There are cricket clubs in California. (Southern California has more clubs and richer too. They have ex-test players).
There are about 20+ cricket clubs in Silicon Valley area and they do have their league matches. My brother for one,
plays regularly, believe it or not!!! That ground is used for matches regularly. The owner is an Indian from West Indies.
I don't care for cricket (that is as blasphemous as it gets for an Indian ) but my wife is a big fan. I go to the winery
for wine tasting.

Wonderful. I enjoyed looking at these. Well seen all of them. I had no idea that anyone in the USA would know what cricket was let alone actually play it. I am with you on the wine tasting Sury.

With almost 3 Million strong diaspora, there is a considerable cricket following on West Coast (that I know of) and elsewhere I am sure.
In fact there was a commercial (TV ad) featuring Jerry Seinfeld (a stand up comedian of note in US, also star of TV show Seinfeld) playing
cricket. I think that was for American Express. I heard that there is an effort afoot to form a US national team. Since my wife, my brother,
my nieces and nephews and close friends are ardent fans, I enjoy the "game" for imbibing libations and riling them than for the game per se.
In fact, local cable, the two big Satellite provides (DirectTV and DISH) offer regular Cricket programming in addition to packages during World Cup
etc. Back to my wine....

Ha! I didn't look closely enough at the 'mountain' good one Dusty.
I'm with you on cricket Sury, I'm not over the moon with it either, it's ok if you if you have the time to spare, but I find my attention span isn't long enough...mostly, I have seen the odd exciting close finish in limited over matches though I have to admit.

Don't know if it's an optical illusion but can I bowl from this end, looks nicely downhill for my advancing years - if you won't let me I'll just have to try the wine !!
Even a non crifcket fan would have enjoyed Kevin Peterson (ex SA) punting the SA bowlers all round Headingly (UK test venue) on Saturday & then 3 gold medals, what a joyous day !!

That is funny.It certainly looks that way never the less.
I think the tilt is due to the prior wine tasting by the photographer than anything else.
As far as trying out, I say you are welcome to try it out as you wish.
As for the rest, I need to check it out or may be ask my brother who follows cricket.
