Re: Birds 2013
Thank you aa. The second shot with worm in it is taken by a friend of mine, I should remind you.
I posted the second one in response to Mark's query about what kind of food was in the mouth.
The first one with tail of the worm is mine.
With best regards,
Sury

Thanks aa!
Sury: you had some timing to do too, considering how fast those animals are able to make food 'disappear'.

Re: Birds 2013
More great action shots here!
I didn't know whether to put these on the new thread "From the Garden' as they are and they're nothing remarkably unusual. I do enjoy watching and photographing all the birds in the garden, whether common or unusual.
These Woodpigeons have been particularly entertaining recently. There are two males and a female that are always knocking about the garden. The female can’t seem to decide between the older male (who thinks he has priority) and the younger male. When the older one is absent she flirts with the youngster, doing the beak and head courtship thing and if the ‘old man’ reappears she dashes over to hm and waggles her bum at him in appeasement/promise/reassurement.....
Despite looking clumsy and not very bright they appear to have learnt how to get at the sunflower seeds…… more expense
Where’s she gone now?
Is that her?
Now, what was it I was thinking about, then ? My, that food looks good………….
Pat

Good white whatchamacallit Sury
Great Galah bif aa (getting an in focus Galah in flight is amazing)
Pretty Pigeons Pat, I think one of the basic operating principals with Pigeons is ‘if you have the seed they have the time.’

That Galah looks like a beautiful species aa. Great BIF shot!
Doves/pigeons always crack me up. They indeed look as dumb as a goldfish and the bulky body doesn't help that image. Great sharp images and (con)text Pat!

Welcome Valery . That's a very nice shot of the bird with food. It looks like some type of tree creeper?
