Thank you Greg and Mark :)

Interesting update Sury. That has really emphasised the sky. Can you share how you've done that? Alway interested in learning PP techniques.

I processed in Light Room 3 software. I pulled Recover to right and also the blacks to the right.
The original was way too saturated so I overlaid the LR version on the original and tried fill ratios.
The field in LR version is too "burned" and by overlaying I was trying to gain back the fields. Ideally,
I would have erased the field from LR version but was too lazy to do it. :D
Of course I could have tempered tweaking in LR but my focus was on bringing the sky out to see
if the details can be coaxed out of the image. Similar to what I did with the Pano. I wanted to see
if it can be done. :)

Hi Sury, :)

Thanks for sharing the post processing work flow. Much as I appreciate the new dramatic look in your version, I like the original better for showing more of the fine details and having a more natural look. The processed version of yours look a bit 'overbaked' more my eyes.

I hope I haven't offended you. : ) And don't you stop showing us what you think is better for you either. Always open to new thoughts and ideas.

Thank you Yildiz and DA for your comments.

Interesting to see your PP approaches Sury - I'm always interested to learn new techniques :)

Yildiz,
No offense taken. :)
As I mentioned in my post, I felt the field was quite "burned" and over processed. I am with you.
I believe Greg's comment also would echo the same sentiment though he did not elaborate.
I was just focusing on getting details back into sky. The right flow would be to overlay the sky
on the original and tweak till the sky flows better with the golden field.

With best regards,
Sury

Sounds logical, Sury.

You may be on to a better processing with your latest wowrkflow suggestion.

Yes Sury I didn’t make a big deal out of it, I’m just not particularly fond of bright cyan sky in between dramatic threatening cloud formations, even parts of the clouds have been coloured bright cyan blue, it’s obviously fake, to my eye anyway (probably because I saw the original first but I’d probably still gag if I saw it without the original).
Greg
Ps goodness graciousment Birma, b&w wheat looks dead, (which is a shame). :(

Yildiz,
Not to flog a dead horse, but this is what I meant. Granted, I could have pulled back on the skies
to make them less dramatic and in-line with the rest of picture. The field is from the Andy's orginal,
overlaid with skies that were post processed.

Hi Sury, : )

Now the photo reminds me of all those scenes from apocalyptic movies where first it's always the sky that shows strange signs of changing and not in a familiar way. :D Any moment in this photo a UFO or something strange may emerge through the clouds in spite of the blue brightness behind.

In spite of everything I just said please continue with your experimentations. :)

Thanks for sharing,

Yeah keep it up Sury, the field is definitely better for sure, not as Vincent-ish, or on an alien planet.
Greg

Now that I have Yildiz in my corner, now off to conquer Greg.
Went back to the drawing board and applied "moderation" :D

By the way, thank you Yildiz and Greg for your feedback and Andy for letting me
use/butcher/massacre your shot so that I can get better at post processing. :)

I think that looks ok Sury, now at least the over bright field doesn’t look strange like before, being under dark clouds, one conflicting with the other. The sky looks much better too, it now has a more subtle effect which you might/should get away with. :D
