Pura Vida is an expression you hear all around in Costa Rica. It has come to exemplify
the life style/attitude/culture/... of Costa Rica.
This store owner was a flight attendant in a regional airline that was eventually absorbed
by a major airline. So he decided to set up a gift shop on the way to Poas Volcano and La Paz
Falls from San Jose, Costa Rica. He now is the master of his time and destiny. He opens his shop
if he feels like it or when you walk in, he may declare a store wide discount just because he feels
like it. A very interesting character to say the least but one who seems to have embraced a simple
life and as they say in Costa Rica: Pura Vida.
For a small tip, he gives you some paint and brushes. You can write any message you want on the walls as long as
it meets the decorum of civil society (no foul language, suggestive statements etc).
This is his store. Quite eclectic to say the least:

Thank you Andy and Valery. The owner was eclectic and fun to have conversation. He
offers free coffee to all his customers. I asked him why and his reply was "because"....

Interesting adventure! From the pictures you've posted so far (from your trip), these are most interesting because of human/cultural interest. And you have a great story to share with these pictures. Thanks for sharing!
