Looks nice but I can't "feel" the Zeiss look though.
The reason you don't 'feel' the Zeiss look is because it is socially/culturally constructed concept that originates from the Zeiss users community and it's function is to separate/uplift those who use Zeiss lenses from the rest. In other words it's a cultural myth and typical for human communities. But the Zeiss reputation has true basis, at least these lenses do convoy very nice contrast and colors which I don't get from the native E-mount lenses I won myself. Good but no magic powder.
Thanks Henry! It's also one of my own favourites - it's me throwing Aura in the air while playing in water - and the only one that wasn't actually taken by me (Aura's mother Sari took that).
Season of Touit - Picture 20 Week 42, Saturday - Next level
"Stop the press!! Today's post was originally supposed to be the last post of Season of Touit before I start my last season. I had already wrote a part of it, when I got an unexpected e-mail which might change my plans. It could be the best thing ever happened in my story or it might not lead to anything, I don't know yet. Right now my project is now in its liminal state (between two stages in plain language) and before I can continue to the next level – that is the last season of Year of the Alpha – I have to wait and see what happens. But this is also good news, because I can continue the Season of Touit at least for a week (might be even more if the e-mail leads to something) and tell you about some things that I haven't touched yet. So, sit tight as I continue to share my experiences with the Zeiss Touits.
One of those things that I haven't discussed about yet, is the Touit 2.8/12's great functionality in small spaces. [...]"
Season of Touit - Picture 21 Week 43, Wednesday - a Real Touit
"While I have shared my pictures taken with Zeiss Touit 2.8/12 & Touit 2.8/50M regularly on many photography forums, I have found that there is one preconception regarding the Touit family that emerges pretty often. It seems that there are many photographers who perceive the Zeiss Touit family different from other Zeiss products like ZA & ZM's. Many of them seem to ask if the lenses of Touit family are 'true' Zeiss lenses. [...]"
Toni,
You have thrown light on how shadows too convey the story.
I love the composition and if that particular lens made the shot
feasible then more power to it otherwise this is to me more about
conveying a story than a technical assessment. I mean it in a most
positive and complimentary sense.

Sury, thanks for very nice compliment. I feel humble, since story telling with pictures is something that I feel lacks in my photography.
Regarding the technical issues, it's something I need to drag with me, since it's part of my deal with Zeiss. I have to confess that after 20 pictures (and over 14000 words) I find it somewhat difficult to come up with new observations about these lenses.. But 'Season of Touit' and I will start my last season (which is still in liminal state).
Season of Touit - Picture 22 Week 43, Saturday - 5000 Bras
"Sometimes when you find a perfect but random opportunity for a picture you should go for it. Couple of days ago I was visiting a local library and noticed a beautiful environmental artwork at the hallway. Right when I walked in I knew I had to take picture of it and share it here. This a small detail of artwork crafted from 5000 used women's brassieres. It's part of the national women's breast cancer campaign called 'Kanssasi' (With you) which spreads out knowledge about women's breast cancer and also support the women who have had it by creating more positive image of their condition. I found it really beautiful way of honoring these women. It's like a sea of roses, which reminds us that every single individual is precious and a story of its own. Great work!
Season of Touit - Picture 23 Week 44, Wednesday - Brown
"When I originally started this season, I said that I would be exploring focal lengths that differ from my standard photography. While I've been doing just that with the Zeiss Touit 2.8/12 & Touit 2.8/50M, using these lenses have unconsciously introduced another theme into my work in this season. Looking at my Flickr-stream it becomes very clear that this other theme is color. Many of my shots have really been about simplifying the subject and let the colors emanate from my photographs. So, while I've been working with very different focal lengths, this season has also been me exploring what I can do with these 'new colors' that I get from Zeiss lenses. [...]"

To me the textures come through with more emphasis.
Yep, it's a bit too sharp. Everytime I do something with focus stacking I end up with super/over sharp image. This one, for example, hasn't been sharpened at all after I stacked the images. But it still looks way too sharpened (even at my blog page where flickr doesn't destroy it).
