Thanks guys, it's a nice difference in my eyes as well even if the second picture doesn't work so well by itself..

Season of Photographic Eye - Picture 14
Week 51, Saturday - Christmas coming - everything on sale
"If 'photographic eye' is the noun for the thing I've been discussing for this whole season, then the 'photographic intention' is the verb for the same thing. Couple of post earlier I wrote about 'hunting' for circumstances and pictures that would describe my photographic eye. Now that I have thought about it more, it seems the 'intention' is even better term to describe the process where I try to come up with pictures that exemplify my personal way of seeing things. [...]"

Toni,
It is a nice shot on its own, but I am not able to figure out your intention for this shot.
What am I missing?

When I started this season I originally had an idea that it would develop from 'black' to 'white' as the snow would start to fall from the skies. Unfortunately there isn't any snow and everything is quite black and un-photogenic. To have some sort of variation in pictures I decided to come up with some 'seasonal pictures'. So it's nothing more than that.. ..and I'm starting to having some sort of combat fatigue as the project is coming to an end.. :)

Season of Photographic Eye - Picture 15
Week 52, Wednesday - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
"The last week of my project starts. I will still concentrate on ‘photographic eye’ for this week and share the final post of this project next week at December 31st. I have to say this year has been pretty exciting (and wearing) in terms of photography, but before I can look back what I’ve done and what has happened, I need to continue about the photographic eye for this week and create a closure for this season.

I have been writing a lot about certain themes regarding the photographic eye. The problem of photographic eye, that is the difficulty of finding a certain identifiable personal style in your photography, has of course been the key subject. Besides that I’ve been contemplating quite a lot about the process of actual shooting, visual motifs, ideas and repertoires. However, what I haven’t yet discussed about is what happens after the shooting. [...]"

This one I can interpret your intention as capturing the holiday spirit without necessarily
having a "typical" image, not withstanding if that is indeed your intention. :D

Really like the slightly abstract view , and always love bokeh lights. :)

I will be very sad to see your year come to an end. I have really enjoyed your regular pictures, and the changes of subject like the changes of the season. I hope you will keep posting, even if less frequently.

You know, I find these kind of subjects them most difficult ones and I tend to drift away from them. It's like Eiffel Tower, the subject that has been captured so many times it's impossible to do interesting pictures out of it anymore. Christmas tree specially is a subject that seems to come out always with a same feeling no matter how you approach it..

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Remember to capture those moments! :-)

Thanks, Jeff! As I already wrote to Sury, I find it difficult subject.

Thanks for the kind words Andy. It really makes me warm to hear that someone has enjoyed following my project. I will be a bit sad as well when this thing ends (couple of pictures still to do), but I will also be glad that I will have a moment to catch my breath. :D

Merry Christmas for you too!!

Season of Photographic Eye - Picture 16
Week 52, Saturday - Light and Shadows
"This is the last post regarding this season and I will finally end the whole project next week December 31st. Even with the risk of being repetitive, it is necessary for one more time to define the problem of ‘photographic eye’, so that I can attempt to create closure for this season. As I have already stated earlier, camera is a device that can be used to take pictures by itself and, if wanted, without intervention of the photographer at all. One could say that the essence of photography is very much tied into way this camera creates images. This sort of man-machine relationship is also something that separates photography from other art forms like painting, for example, where there is no such thing as neutral or characterless images per se as the personality of the painter and his style are embedded into image by default. Unfortunately the reverse is true of photography. [...]"
