Very dramatic indeed. I love the layers of landscape. The arid brown in the foreground to the snow banked/capped mountain in the back in a sweeping arc.

The volcano photo is way cool! That's something you don't get a chance to see around this state for sure. Please keep them coming.

Well, not an actual volcano, but it does have a very dramatic look. A late summer evening on the beach at Luskentyre, on the Isle of Harris, in the Western Isles of Scotland. The setting sun is reflected back in to the clouds above the hills of North Harris giving this apocalyptic-like view.

Thanks Jeff and Sury :)

Sury, the sun had just set about 90 degrees to the left of this view . I was really surprised by this display. I suppose the clouds clinging to the hill tops were at the right height to catch the last of the sun's rays. A timely reminder to alway look behind you when shooting landscapes :D

Here is a completely different view of the same range of hills on a different day. This time bands of rain are being blown across the hills from the Atlantic on a stiff south-westerly.

I love the colours on Harris - what ever the weather there is always a jewel like quality to the sea and shore here.
