New Lightroom Preset for A700

Unread post by adakshi »

Hello,

Just created and tested LR preset for A700. It looks good to me. No more magenta cast or brightness issue. I'd request you to tweak setting according to your liking. Now here are the samples

Jpeg extracted from RAW using RawWorkflow software

LR with my Preset

DXO with lens specific corrections applied

Some more samples in next post

Thanks

At least if the preset can set a good starting point, it'll reduce a lot of headache.

That must have taken some work - WB especially. I take it this is your own preset?

I have got close enough to approach the JPEG overall range, but not as good as this for contrast curve and colour balance.

I was fed up with LR but as soon as I got RawWorkflow software to extract embedded Jpeg, I took this challenge. By the way DXO has most matching color and curve (slightly more contrasty) unless there is a huge shadow in the pic or you want to lift shadow to get some details. In that case DXO has some green cast issue, shadow becomes green. I contacted DXO and they are aware of it and promised me that it'll be fixed in their next release.

As of now LR is best if you need shadow details.

Here are the presets, you are welcome to tweak it, just make sure that you make 2 changes after applying preset,
1. Reset WB to 'As shot'
2. Reduce tint by 5

I couldn't find a way to tell LR that I just need to reduce tint by 5 from 'As shot' version, if I export the reduced version as preset, LR will take that entire setting as custom and apply to all images,

I might tweak more or create more Presets, I'll notify. All of these are more all less similar, just kept on changing.

I'd appreciate feedbacks and if you can share your tweaked version. :). But I think this would be a nice base for fine tuning.

Thanks

Thanks -it just don't work for me, I'm looking for other tones/colors/contrast. And, for my taste, you are sharpening too much. I'm still working on the photographt I took in Peru during the Easter photographic safari we did, I selected 550 pics of the 1300 I took, and I already corrected 85, I thought your preset could help me...

Thanks anyway.

I am sorry it didn't work for you. But you can reduce sharpness and create your own Preset. I have tested 'A700P3' with different light setting and it gave me most accurate tonality/Color/Curve. By accurate I mean close or equal to Jpeg embedded in Camera RAW.

Thanks

Embedded jpeg vs LR vs DXO comparison is up.
