Accepts non-Sony lenses via adaptor

Saying that I've just seen the pre-order prices on Jessops and body only the NEX 7 is £1000 too much I think

Looks like a decent lens-line-up, but me, I prefer more pancakes for my breakfast, not just a stack on one…

I understand lens makers need to offer this f1.x lenses on their line up, but I'll be so happy with a compact 24mm f2.8!

All in all a good move, NEX-7 looks good to me . As usual, smaller, lighter, faster and cheaper lenses would be welcome., but Rome was not built in one day either

I think the LA-EA2 is very interesting, since it seems to use a camera independent AF system, there should be no reason why version of LA-EA2 could not be made for Can/Nik or any AF lens.

Does anyone know whether the NEX-7 has an IR remote option?
DPreview clearly states it has in a bullet list on the first page of the preview.
Sony UK clearly states it has not in the specification.
Sony UK also states that the 5N does not have an IR remote.
Both cameras appear to have a remote 'eye' in the same place as the NEX-5.

More that 60% of my shutter actuations are via the IR system on the NEX-5 and I am feeling a bit 'shell-shocked' at the moment!

So far I have not been very interested in the NEX system, but with this camera it has come of age.

The advent of an EVF for the N7 is a threat to the Leica M8 if not the M9, at least for those of us not in the super-plutocrat market place. The combination of a mass market camera which will accept miniature MF lenses should be a big prospect for CV too although much will depend on what proportion of N7 users will require AF. Personally, I shall be pleased to get back to MF now there is a viewfinder and I should much prefer to have smaller lenses than Sony is offering.

Not required since the NEX contrast AF is off the main sensor and thus there can't be front or back focus.

I must say that after some consideration and viewing video snips available I have come to the following tentative purchasing decisions:
I will purchase the new LA-EA2 converter to use on my NEX-5 when available. I may also purchase the new SEL55200, but if my current Alpha lenses perform adequately using the LA-EA2 I may resist that temptation.
I will wait for the new Sony E-mount lenses announced for 2012, these being high performance standard zoom G, wide angle zoom lens and mid telephoto lens. If tests show that the SEL55200 and the new 2012 lenses can handle 24Mp I may then purchase the NEX-7 as well as at least the W/A zoom. If not I may be tempted by the NEX-5N with the new optional EVF. Rationally speaking 16Mp is fine for me.
Ideally I would like Tamron to announce an E version of their new 18-270 zoom but with their VR system built in.
The problem is the choices now available. The A77 looks super but is too heavy for me now. I fancy the A65, but will probably invest in E-mount because of weight/bulk considerations.
