I don't understand why my .jpg files look so different after I upload them. There is a very noticeable difference when viewing a file from the internet side by side with the file that is on my computer. The contrast is much higher in the uploaded version. Oh well, it is what it is I guess.

I can't visualize what the original shot appeared like prior to uploading, Jeff, but, this is an intriguing shot of Picchu Picchu with the clouds and landscape forming several layers of beauty...
Might even be as interesting in colour with this combination of natural layers.. : )

Thanks for sharing,

Hi Sury,

Lovely cars. Some automotive technology right after locomotives in B&W certainly induces a sense of "ancient but good".

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks Yildiz. The colors weren't that spectacular, that's why I grabbed the IR camera to see what it would do.

Sury, love the car shot. I really need to go to an auto show again. It's been way too long.

Ooops! I'm about 10 hours or so by bus from Cusco and maybe 5 or 6 from Titicaca.

Oh, ok. Thank you. We are planning a trip to Machu Pichu and Lake Titicaca end of April.
We don't have time for both Titicaca and Arequipa/Colca Canyon. Right now, we are planning
on visiting Lake Titicaca. Arriving in Titicaca from Cusco and fly out of Puno to Lima. Hence my questions.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip. I need to make a trip to Machu Picchu myself before I leave, but I'll have to fight my language teachers for the time off.

JT, that is an interesting shot. Almost painting-like, at least on my laptop monitor.

Thanks Sury.

Thank you for commenting. The story goes that holding the big lens would be difficult and would probably render a soft image that just might look like a painting. Based on your feedback (and my opinion as well) it worked. Nothing like capitalizing on one's weakness.

Another from my recent road trip.
An abstract that is foiled by a bird.

Nice concept JB. Indeed, very clever of you to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Perhaps brush out the bird or crop the photo or simply brush off the bird with a shrug.

The lonely photographer. He sits on the shore with his telephoto lens wrapped in plastic waiting for birds that will not fly today.

Wow. That Dam thing is big..... :D Excellent choice for B&W treatment, JB. Shows the loneliness, vast emptyness
and yet so regrets. Only pursuit of happiness (of catching a bird or two) and determination through the grittiness of
B&W. I just realized the the treatment is conveying two sets of opposing feelings. At least that is what I feel and felt.
Very bipolar indeed.
