Occoquan Bay in May

Unread post by Almazar80 »

A friend and I took another walk at the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge in suburban Virginia. I caught the birding bug. Here are some pictures.

1. The Heron Screams

2. Reflection

3. Heron on the Rocks

Even though the refuge in the suburbs, the sound of water tapping on the shores is just incredibly relaxing. Thanks for looking.

Those are all great shots. That first one is especially dramatic.

Love the first. What an interesting instance in action!
The rest are just as beautiful; lots of fine details and mood catchers...

Thank you for sharing, Almazar80.

Great pictures, Almazar, but the first one is a real stunner! Well done to capture that moment so perfectly :)

Thank you for the kind comments. I was all set to return to the refuge but it is going to be a cloudy weekend. I really enjoy the long walks there. And it's only half an hour from D.C.
