Re: Tokina 70-200mm f4
I am looking at this range of lens at the moment so this discussion is of interest to me. I sold my beercan last week and will sell my Tokina 70-200/2.8 ATX in the next week or two. It is not a zoom lens I use often but want good IQ when I do. I will keep away from the f4 for one reason- I want to b...

Re: A77 no time lapse
You can get a very low-cost intervalometer and long exposure timer with remote release off eBay. I'm pretty sure I have one written up on the webpages somewhere. Having an intervalometer on a live view camera like the A77 is a little bit more demanding than having one on the 7D, or earlier live vie...

A77 no time lapse
Big disappointment today when I had to shoot some time lapse shots to record the shadow for a location scout for a tv commercial and the A77 has no intervalometer. Last time I had to do this I used my KM 7D which sadly I sold a couple of weeks ago.

Re: 17-35mm G version or 16-35mm Carl Zeiss
Having sold my 17-35mm D after getting the A77 and stopping using the A900 much, I have just found another at a fair price (very few go for as low as I paid new for my last one) which I plan to use with the A99. I have been used the Sigma 12-24mm, but I need to change lenses too often. The 17-35mm ...

Re: Tokina 28-70/2.6-2.8 Angenieux inspired
I'm at present selling some older glass and upgrading. I've sold off a lot of my older Minolta glass and just purchased the 16-35/2.8. That has allowed me to put my KM 17-35 up for sale. Next purchase will be the 24-70/2.8. I have the KM 28-70 and a Tokina 28-70/2.6-2.8 first version from Japan tha...

Re: UW zooms: Your opinions.
I have the Tokina (I read David doesn't like it) and am very happy with it. I only use it UW as I have the 16-35/2.8 and I'm impressed with the IQ. I shoot mainly landscapes and don't require it often but when I do it fits the bill. It is not being produced anymore. Next lens I'd agree with the Sigm...

Re: 17-35mm G version or 16-35mm Carl Zeiss
I bit the bullet and bought the 16-35, I already have the 17-35 KM lens. First thoughts were "it's damn heavy" but now I've used it for about a month I have to say I'm happy with the improved IQ. It is not that noticeable on a monitor but you you print over A4 size the benefits show. I con...

From what I've heard the mirror is cheap and easy to change yourself
