the only issue with the Minolta/Sony Macro lenses (at least the 50mm 2.8 and the 100mm 2.8, I haven't try the 50mm 3.5) is the slow focus. On any camera. But opticaly, they are the best Macro lenses around. The 100mm 2.8 specially: an object of desire... Regards Macro lenses need finer focussing - ...

Thanks for your comment :D Sony Alpha a700 with Sony 100mm f2.8 macro lens and I believe the species is Anthophora furcata They do come in various shades and some are more ginger than others. The lighting is different here (both photos taken a couple of days ago) but the bee was a different colour. ...

Excellent photos Gustav, well done!

Actually only the last is a Dragon fly, the first is a Hover fly and the others Damsel flies :D ... but no matter the photos are great!

Those old master portrait from way back you see hanging in the art galleries they were almost always "idealised".

Otherwise the painter wouldn't have been paid ... or worse :(
