Re: CF cards for A700.
Thank you, David. I think for the time being, taking all the comments on board, I'll stick to 4 GB. Mostly, when I go out for a day or take a short holiday I'd shoot one ~ two films a day; so a 4 GB card should be more than enough. Cost of film has always been a restriction to my photography in so f...

Re: CF cards for A700.
Thanks Guys. Your comments have been most useful. Your point about cards corrupting is a very good point David. It does seem that no matter how far advanced be become we don't seem to be able to solve reliability issues totally and even cost does not guarantee this. I've noticed this recently when I...

Re: GePe slide mounts.
Once again David, thanks. I don't use the glass slide mounts; stopped using them a long time ago due to cost and complaints from our projectionist about dust and breakages. Now I'm the club projectionist! I would, however, be very interested in any 35 mm GePe metal mask slide mounts you might have -...

Re: CF cards for A700.
Thanks, David,
So does this mean I could use a 16 GB CF card if I wanted to?![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: GePe slide mounts.
Thanks for that. They do them, but not with metal masks. ![Crying or Very sad ](./images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)

GePe slide mounts.
Anyone know of a reliable and cheap source of GePe slide mounts with metal masks? I think that over £7 a box is a little rich. 'Tis for me, anyway ![Crying or Very sad ](./images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)

Sony contacts
Why does Sony have a "contact us" link on their web site if they never have any intention of giving a reply? I've sent numerous emails via their site and never once got an acknowledgement, let alone an answer! In desperation I rang them. Wow, what a farce that was. The person on the other ...

Re: Non DT lenses and flash
Thank you for that David. Phew, what a relief! Going from the Minolta 700 Si to the Alpha 700 I've already had to replace my flash gun and my ringflash - both, unfortunately, incompatable with my new camera. I did purchase an 18 ~ 250mm DT zoom following your review in the club magazine, so have one...

Re: CF cards for A700.
Thanks David and sorry about the double posting, which was an accident on my part. I wasn't worried about type I and type II cards as such. I was simply confused by the terminology, being new to digital. So in my mind I had kind of wondered if the III in extreme III and the IV in extreme IV meant th...

Hi David,
Can you explain what you mean by severe back focus and what problems it causes?

Hi, not a "kababayan", but how would you say, " balikbayan". I'm British, been married to a Filipna for 32 years. Loved your photo's of Vigan having visited there with my extended family. Brought back some lovely memories. Must say that your shots were better than mine (shot on f...

Non DT lenses and flash
Being new to digital I ask this: The manual for the Alpha 700 says that the flash guns work perfectly with DT lenses as they are able to measure the exact distance to a subject - is the flash as equally acurate with non DT lenses, such as those from my Minolta 700 Si system? ![Neutral :|](./images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif)
