Re: Anyone bought a new scanner recently?
I think that scanner is for slides. is that what you have? My Epson is a few years old but i can put 8 or 10 slides on the platter and the scanner will make separate files from them all and ICE works well to clean them up in an automated way. I'm not sure what the newer driver would be like. it's be...

Re: Godox TT685S Flash
I know this is a pretty old thread but, Barry if you could confirm that this flash will work as a controller on the camera hot shoe for other Sony and Minolta 5600HS's that would be great!

Re: Wireless Flash Cheat
I wonder if Metz sells their IR pass filter for the macro flash separately? seems like an item that could get lost and would solve this problem

Hi folks
Anyone heard of or know anything about this lens? I've seen one other like this but can't find anything on it.

There could be profit for Canon. They could just license their name to some upstart Chinese maker.

Re: Minolta 28-85mm problem...
Wonder if that just needs a retaining ring? The only lenses I had apart had a plate held by 2 screws that held that shaft in place because the shaft was bigger than the opening in the plate. is there nothing loose and rattling around inside your lens? Edit: That part is called a coupler and it's sim...

Re: Minolta Dynax 5 eye piece focus?
it's called a Eyepiece corrector 1000. in Minlota/ (looked in the book as I have a brand new max 5 in a box here that had a manual) http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINOLTA-EYEPIECE-CORRECTOR-1000-1-NEW-/150617323546 Sony has one too and I think it's the same actually so maybe it's something you can try at a...

Re: Minolta wireless remote flash controller.
actually on examination it does have another sensor on it. Looks like it has a prism and a blue filter that faces the same direction as the flash tube. must be to read back the light from the scene. I wonder why it would need that if it's reading off the film?

Re: Minolta wireless remote flash controller.
ok the mystery is over. I took i apart, this thing is in fact a flash. it has a xenon tube inside and a big wet capacitor (240mfd 300wv I think this is the same size cap that's in the 36am flash) (which still gave a pretty good jolt after being discharged) there is just a fat IR pass filter in front...

Re: Minolta wireless remote flash controller.
asked Michael Hohner about this unit, his response: It's true, it's more than a IR transmitter. Towards the camera, it behaves like a flash in wireless control mode, and towards the remote flash, it behaves like a controller, and the protocols on both sides are not the same. This is interesting. Any...

Re: Minolta wireless remote flash controller.
Yes it's for the old OTF protocols. I don't know whats up with the weird array of bodies it does and doesn't work with. it should fire from them all at least but it doesn't. Of course digital is a different communication language and it happens before and after the exposure not just during the expos...
