Re: Support Complaints -> How about point of sale?

I have had mixed experiences with ACE accredited stores; Digital Depot in Stevenage (very poor), Jacobs in Leicester (reasonable), LCE in Nottingham (fair) but they all had one common failing: "sorry but the Sony sales staff is - off today/out to lunch /on a course" (in that order). The tr...

Welcome from Bonneville too.

And while we await some of your nice hobby pictures, here is a London bus I enjoyed a tour of Helsinki in last year

Re: Wind turbines

You are probably thinking of the huge wind farm on Hwy 58 That's it Henry, thanks for the post. It brought back memories of that trip and the wind farm was one of the few interesting sights on an otherwise very long and boring drive.........until the Stratosphere tower and the rest of Las Vegas eve...

Have you considered a Minolta 50 1.7 Tony? Still plenty about and considerably less beans than the Sony 50.

Re: Minolta camera collection

Thanks everyone for their responses, cool collections all. UK magazine amateur photographer regular run articles on iconic film cameras but I have yet to see Minolta feature. It seems also that there is a [crazy] world of camera collectors out there who have no intention of ever using them, but disp...

Re: Alpha Lens Rental + Wedding

I am certainly no professional but I did cover a birthday bash recently that went well and as a result I have a booking to cover a civil partnership day soon. http://www.brianyoungphotography.co.uk/webpics/Sue%20party048.jpg I used my a700 & grip + SAL70200 f2.8 and a100 + Sig 1850 f2.8 with 56 ...

Re: Sony polls for interest in Video DSLRs

Personally, I have no desire for video in a D-SLR. I do own a state of the art Sony camcorder but I rarely use it, rarely bother to look at previously taken footage and cannot see what the draw is. I suppose rattling off a few feet of video and scrutinising every frame for the ideal shot is on the c...

Re: Wind turbines

Hawk, I like your pictures. I have to travel 120 odd miles most days, round trip to my office on a main arterial route, but occasionally I take an alternative route which is longer and slower but passes a huge wind farm. I have often considered taking my kit one day and stopping to shoot the turbine...

Re: is dyxum the best alpha forum?

When I took to photography as a reasonably serious hobby three years or so ago I stumbled on Dyxum and gained a lot from it and contributed a bit too. It is larger than here and competitions are a major feature, as well as it's kit databases of questionable accuracy. But when I discovered Photocluba...

I think Greg is right.

Frank, you can select any of the skins in your UCP including the "blue" but I think David plumped for this as the default because it was popular with several forumers, me included.

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

Love the bonnie picture! I had four Truimphs. Mine's 3 years old now but the day I collected her from the dealer she was parked outside in the sunshine and I heard through an open window an elderly couple stop and admire it. The old woman said, "look at that lovely Bonneville" (she knew h...

Re: some cuban pics

Cuba is on my list too. I like the contrasts and colour. When I was in Jamaica earlier this year we got chatting to a couple from NY and they said they were amazed when their pilot told them to look out of the windows as they were flying over Cuba. They didn't think they were permitted to fly over C...

I think the 3rd one could provoke a multiple response from YKW (although I'm unlikely to read it as he's currently on my foe list  )

Nice shots Greg
