Re: Is this forum dying?

I am still alive but in reading-mode, not posting too much on photography forums.

Just got an excellent deal on a NEX-6 and couldn't resist (anybody needs a 5N?), so still with Sony, but rather for everyday shooting and nothing really serious...

Re: NEX-7 article finally up

I have calmed down. No more anxious waiting for new cameras. The 5N is just brilliant in most aspects, it just looses out badly in AF speed compared to a SLR. Easy to use, fast operation, excellent picture quality and auto-ISO till 3200 is perfect indoors, museums etc. I had the 5 before and its a d...

Re: Nex 7 Image stabilization or lack there of...

Most lenses, like the 18-55 kit lens, have optical image stabilization, so you don' need it in the camera itself. The 16mm and 24mm Zeiss don't have it, the 50/1.8, 55-210 and 18-200 have.

Owning a Tamron 18-200, I can say the image stabilization is just excellent. Full stop.

It might be a real oversight on their end and not bad faith. If they want, they sit it out until you dare go to court... Small against big, a real problem these days.

Re: London?

Just a quick feedback - we stayed 5 days at Ingverness Terrace corner Bayswater street - thats the top left corner of Hyde park/Kensington gardens. Very good location, you can reach many locations by foot, Queensway is just 100m away with many shops and restaurants. Two tube stations just around the...

Re: Beercan 70-210mm versus Canon 70-200mm f4 L IS

I have now sold all my A-mount stuff as I plan to invest more into my NEX system... Nice move! I'm tempted to do the same, but Even NEX7 is not good/fast enough AF-wise for my work... Lets see how the next NEX generation improves AF... Yes AF speed is a concern. I only have the NEX-5 and AF is far ...

Re: Beercan 70-210mm versus Canon 70-200mm f4 L IS

I have now sold all my A-mount stuff as I plan to invest more into my NEX system - the A57 gives me some hope there might be a scaled down NEX-7 with the 16mp sensor, I'll give it a few more months, maybe till Photokina, otherwise NEX-7 be it, as I had planned initially. Ok, something of what I've s...

It clearly says 18-135 on the barrel (if the pic is real) :D

Re: (SR5) First image of the new 18-135mm SAM lens!

The existing 18-200 is known to be mediocre, why not sammize the 18-250 (or even 18-270)?

If its really 18-135 with a decent quality, that's an excellent move!

Re: Tamron 18-200 for NEX anyone? (pics added)

I can't compare focus speed to the Sony - the Tamron is not fast at 200, that's sure, but somewhere there was a video showing that the Tamron is still faster than the Sony. The issue is, that due to the shake, at 200mm the camera has a problem to find some contrast. My trick is to half-press the shu...
