Re: NEX5 w/16mm & 18-55 at Amazon £581.33 at Amazon UK - Goo

Amazon also had an additional £50 off the two lens kit in Silver, on top of the VAT reclaim, but this offer expired Nov 28th. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000469513 I nearly bought a twin lens silver kit, nearly... EDIT: Oops sorry I just realised this was quite an old ...

Re: David, have you seen this thread re UK online lens sales

Its a shame Tokina are half committed, I see the 16-28mm full frame is only for Canikon http://www.dpreview.com/news/1007/10070501tokina16_28mmnikoncanon.asp Sony do seem to have shot themselves in both feet and some other areas with the policy change, seems to be some dissent amongst the trade as w...

Re: RayFlash Ringflash Adapter for HVL-F58AM?

Thanks David, based on my own measurements, its 173mm from the flash head to centre of lens throat on an A900 with 56, so 175mm is closer. Sounds like your being sent the 175-2 which is the one I was looking at. Bit worried about the weight, and the distribution of light, but only to the extent cove...

RayFlash Ringflash Adapter for HVL-F58AM?

In David's article in "Master Photographer March 2010" (available on Yudu http://www.yudu.com/i/31s0 ) the review on Page 35 of the latest Ray Flash makes reference to a model designed for the HVL-F58AM that David has tested? Can David or anyone else comment on this model, I can find no re...

I am tempted... if it arrives in 3-4 days like it seems braeside's did, I could use it at my friends wedding next weekend. Royal Mail strikes permitting!

Re: Who has pre-order a Sony's HVLF20AM Flash like me ?

Great thanks. I am asking around the office for anyone going to the US at the moment to see if they can bring me one back, but that seems like a reasonable alternative. I like to support the local resellers though ideally if possible, but it seems that not many have the HVL-F20AM advertised yet. I a...

Re: Who has pre-order a Sony's HVLF20AM Flash like me ?

Sounds like a nice flash Don. I received my Sony HVL-F20AM flash from Hong Kong yesterday, as I expected excellent speedy delivery. Can I ask who you used? Was it chrisman2882? Did you get stung for the import tax or did they mis-value the package to avoid it?! I see that Adrian at minolta-mania (p...

Re: HVL-F20AM - Can it act in command mode on A900?

At £150 I can buy two from the US for the same price! $150 - £150 is a really bad joke, I mean its not even funny :o Can I ask where the price came from, do you have a price list? I saw the body prices on amatuer photographer website, but as they are RRP I am not really sure what to make of them...

David you old sceptic, see Sony produced us a nice £200 baby flash for remote control! (thanks for pointer Ian, was following the DP thread but 44 posts behind the curve) http://presscentre.sony.eu/Content/Detail.asp?ReleaseID=368&NewsAreaID=2 HVL-F20AM ultra-compact external flash Brighten up a...

Re: HVL-F20AM - Can it act in command mode on A900?

 Glad you got the irony of my literal translation of the US price  It costs a lot to ship stuff to the UK, like the Panasonic G1 HD for example, £300 more in the UK than the US, must be those heathrow landing fees.. Well, we can live in hope. Does the Nikon SB-400 or Canon 270EX work as a...

HVL-F20AM - Can it act in command mode on A900?

Has anyone seen any details on the web on the new small $130 (£75) flash the HVL-F20AM and if it can act in command mode on an A900 to fire other flashes? Sony will not get me to part with £400 for a 58 just to trigger my existing 56, but if the new 20 will trigger the 56 then they might get my cash...

Re: Identifying lenses that support "full Frame" CCD sensors

No lens is ever going to work with the A900 CCD sensor as it has a CMOS sensor? You want to avoid lenses with "DT" in the title, this denotes they are not full frame but APS-C only. This applies to Sony branded lenses, Sigma and Tamron have their own names but their websites explain...

Re: If I had to choose one raw converter for A900

I have not had great success myself with the bibble 5 preview... I am tempted with Aperture but it runs slow on my macbook, and I can't use capture one unless I upgrade to OS X Leopard :(
