Do not use the Hartblei 35mm/f2.8 T&S on the a900. The tilt shift adjustments on the lens rub against the prism housing when mountin/unmounting the lens and puts pressure on the mount. Also the lens is not capable of meeting the resolution of the camera

Well to use a hackneyed phrase "it takes a man etc" Still, Barry, I actually appreciate your observations more than you might realize; as in the beginning I had niggling doubts and then I began to see the potential and have a confirmed sceptic :-) like yourself make the statements above, t...

For another view on the comparions of the 1ds 111 to the a900 see Luminous landscape The salient point is: "The estimated price for this camera is AUD3999 for a body-only. Given that this is well under half that of the well regarded Canon 1DsM3, and that the images are very close in quality, th...

Re: a900's ad. in National Geographics
I think the most interesting thing is that it has two (2) Bionz "2" processors. This would seem to imply a new Bionz processor and two of them at that (similar to the canon IdXX architecture). The importance of processing power on all of these AF points, cannot be underestimated. This impl...

Re: So
I was thinking about lens that I have or do nor have that would work with the a900. What I came up with was the following: Minolta 28/f2 Minolta 50/f1.7 Minolta/CZ 85mm/f1.4 Minolta 100mm/f2 Minolta/Sony 100/2.8 macro CZ 135mm/f1.8 Minolta 200mm/2.8 Minolta 80-200/2.8 CZ 24-70/f2.8 zoom (don't have)...

The best one for me is Silkypix. There are reasons to badmouth the Sony iDC but it does work very well across the ISO's
Asa general rule ACR 4.5 is a nice general purpose tool. I just think Silkpix gives me the best combination of color, sharpness and noise handling across the board
