Re: A58 Review
I think they are all wondering what to make in a camera that might attract buyers now, Canon tried the super small idea and Sony with the latest intro model with a couple of more MP's than the Canon intro models...of course. Greg In case Sony gets flack for "cramming in the megapixels" wi...

Re: A58 Review
I actually haven't heard any other reports but one negative one, concerning using the ADP-MAA adapter with older iISO shoe flash guns. The person in question was using an A99 with an F43AM flash, and the flash kept falling off of the shoe. the connection between shoe adapter and flash gun was fine, ...

Re: A58 Review
The A58 also brings a lot of hardware and system compatibility to the entry level that was missing. The new MI hotshoe and the USB terminal that connects to more capable remotes are quite a bit more notable additions than smarter auto-framing modes. Also, can we please link to an article when we tal...

Re: 18-55mm Kit lens v 18-70mm
I replaced my 18-70 not for the image quality, but for the fact that its plastic mount was depositing little curly plastic shavings on my sensor. I do like the images I took with it though, not least for their very simple barrel distortion.

Re: Been trying a few Canon's lately..and
Canon enjoys a brand-recognition in the DSLR world akin to that of Coca-Cola or Kleenex. I've heard people refer to DSLRs from other makers as "Canons" simply because they're bigger than a P&S and have a viewfinder hump. I've heard of telephoto lenses, in general, referred to as "...

Re: Bl**dy hell - what on earth is this Sony tripod?
I think the problem might be if the tripod is "decently good" because if it's a built in controller then you are kind of stuck with it. It isn't built-in, only bundled. The remote can come free of the tripod and either unit function independently. I saw a VCT-VPR1 in a Sony Store the othe...

I actually greeted him there by wandering down the hill in the rain to find him and Ian seeking shelter from the rain in Pike Place Market.
